Incorporated in 2001, SunTrust Atlantic Energies Limited, formerly known as SunTrust Oil, is a dynamic energy exploration and production company focused on the West African subregion, with a strategic emphasis on the Gulf of Guinea.
Our operations are anchored in responsible energy development, leveraging both technical expertise and regional insights to contribute meaningfully to Africa's energy landscape.
Since 2003, SunTrust Atlantic Energies Limited has been an active participant in Nigeria's upstream oil and gas sector. The company was awarded participating interests by the Federal Government of Nigeria in Petroleum Mining Lease (PML) 22, formerly OML 56 (Umusadege Field), and in Petroleum Mining Lease (PML) 66, formerly PPL202 (Egbolom Field).
In 2008, in partnership with our joint venture operator, SunTrust Atlantic Energies Limited commenced oil production from the Umusadege Field, a key contributor to our production profile, with a multi-well drilling campaign underway to increase output.
In April 2024, we achieved a major milestone by attaining first oil from the Egbolom Field, with current production levels at 2,500 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and a multi-well drilling campaign ongoing.

In over two decades of committed operations, SunTrust Atlantic Energies Limited has grown into a trusted energy exploration and production company focused on West Africa.
Umusadege Award
SunTrust was awarded a 30% interest in Oil Prospecting License 56 (Umusadege).
First Production
Commissioned Umusadege field and commenced production of approximately 3,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
Swamp-5 & EPF
Member of the winning Swamp-5 consortium in the 2014 license Bid Round. Commissioned the Umusadege Early Production Facility with capacity for 10,000,000 scf/day of gas.
Gas Lift Project
Completed the gas lift project on the Umusadege flow station to enhance field productivity.
Egbolom Award
SunTrust was awarded participating interest in Niger Delta field, Egbolom.
Egbolom Studies
Acquired the 2022 PPL award and began technical studies on the Egbolom field.
Egbolom First Oil
Egbolom field commenced production in April 2024, with a current production capacity of 2,500 bopd and ongoing development efforts.
